KEA releases provisional CET round 3 allotment, adds exit option
KEA announced provisional CET round 3 results and introduced Choice-4, allowing newly allotted candidates to exit counselling by Saturday evening.
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has published the provisional seat allotment results for the third round of the Common Entrance Test (CET), covering engineering and several other professional courses.
For the first time, the authority has introduced a 'Choice-4' option for candidates who have received a fresh allotment in this round. These candidates may select Choice-4 by 5 p.m. on Saturday to voluntarily exit the counselling process, according to H. Prasanna, Executive Director of KEA.
However, this option is not available to candidates who were allotted seats in the second round, had taken admission in their colleges, and participated in the third round solely for upgradation. Such candidates must continue with their existing admissions and wait for the final results.
KEA has warned that once final results are declared, candidates must mandatorily take admission in the allotted college without citing any reason. Those who refuse an engineering seat will be required to pay the prescribed fee along with a penalty amounting to five times the fee. The authority added that such refusal would be treated as blocking a government quota seat, potentially inviting legal action.
Officials said that after accounting for seats vacated through the Choice-4 option, the authority will re-run the third-round allotment based on existing preferences and then announce the final results.
The provisional results also cover courses including Architecture, Yoga and Naturopathy, Agricultural Sciences, Veterinary Science, BSc Nursing, BPharm, Pharm-D, BPT, BPO, and Allied Health Sciences.
