Kavitha calls herself 'arrow of Bahujans', not BRS or BJP, at Kosgi Sabha
K. Kavitha told a Paanchajanya Sankalpa Sabha in Kosgi that she belongs to neither BRS nor BJP but to the Bahujans, and promised irrigation from Jurala if her party wins power.
Telangana Rakshana Sena chief K. Kavitha has rejected claims by her political rivals that she is acting on behalf of either the BRS or the BJP, describing herself instead as "the arrow of Bahujans and the war cry of the youth".
Speaking at a Paanchajanya Sankalpa Sabha at Kosgi in the Kodangal Assembly constituency, she said she follows the Ambedkarite tradition and carries forward the self-respect ideology of Phule. She also positioned herself as a woman who stands by the ideals of Savitribai Phule and challenges a political establishment dominated by men.
Looking back at her political career, Ms. Kavitha recalled visiting Kosgi in 2009 alongside the then TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and A. Revanth Reddy. Noting that both men have since become Chief Ministers, she said the support of the people of Kosgi and Kodangal gave her confidence that she too would lead the State one day.
She directed criticism at the Chief Minister, accusing him of arrogance after coming to power, and predicted that he would meet the same defeat as others who shared his approach.
Ms. Kavitha also questioned the rationale for a new political party when the Congress, BJP and BRS are already in the field, asking whether the lives of ordinary people had improved under them. She said youth unemployment and the financial strain on families remain unaddressed.
Outlining a promise for her party's tenure, she said it would draw 3 tmc of water a day from the Jurala project and extend irrigation to 10 lakh acres across the Palamuru-Rangareddy and Ibrahimpatnam regions. "I will ensure water reaches 10 lakh acres from Jurala," she said.
