Kavitha warns against phasing out Telangana Intermediate board
Kalvakuntla Kavitha opposes reported plans to phase out Telangana's Intermediate system, calling the board among the best in India.
Telangana Rakshana Sena chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha has voiced strong opposition to reported government plans to phase out the Intermediate education system in the state. Speaking at a 'Save Intermediate Education' meeting organised by the Telangana Intermediate Education JAC on Friday, she argued that the existing framework is functioning well and should not be disturbed.
Kavitha described the Intermediate Board as one of the best in the country, warning that dismantling it would go against the interests of students. She took aim at Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, saying the government has been making crucial decisions without adequately consulting intellectuals and subject experts.
She also criticised the Chief Minister's reported remarks questioning the relevance of engineering education and suggesting changes to ITI and polytechnic courses. Kavitha alleged that the state's Education Commission had wasted three years, and that its recommendations comprised "tested, trained and failed" ideas. She questioned why a fresh commission was now being set up under the name of the K.K. Commission.
