Kehlani cancels Camden and DC shows after hospitalisation
Kehlani has cancelled two tour stops after a hospital visit, citing severe pain and an inability to swallow. She plans to resume in Virginia.
Singer Kehlani has been forced to cancel two upcoming performances on her Kehlani World Tour after a sudden health scare led to a hospital visit. The Grammy-winning artist announced the news to fans on Instagram on August 26, explaining that she had been experiencing severe discomfort.
"After two off days feeling completely normal," Kehlani wrote, "ive been up all night unable to swallow and in so much pain." She added that she had just left the hospital and had not been cleared to sing for the next two shows, apologising directly to fans in Camden, New Jersey, and Washington, DC.
The cancellations affect the tour's scheduled stops in those two cities. Kehlani expressed her frustration and disappointment, noting that she maintains a strict health regimen. "Breaks my heart to have to ever do this," she wrote. "I do everything I 'am supposed to ensure my health stays up to par and it still isn't guaranteed."
The 31-year-old artist shared photographs from inside an examination room alongside her statement. She indicated that her team is working on a solution for the affected dates, and she plans to resume the tour in Richmond, Virginia, on August 29. "We will pick back up in Virginia," she confirmed.
The 41-stop tour began on August 6. Kehlani has previously spoken about the importance of maintaining a wellness routine while on the road, telling Billboard that she needs structure to survive the demanding schedule. She has also been open about her health, revealing a recent sinus surgery after years of breathing difficulties, and publicly sharing her diagnoses of bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder earlier this year.
