Kerala CM Urges Global Reach for Sree Narayana Guru’s Teachings

Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan on Friday said the teachings of Sree Narayana Guru should transcend the state’s borders and reach a global audience. He was speaking after inaugurating the jayanthi celebrations at Chempazhanthy Gurukulam.

Mr. Satheesan recalled the government’s announcement in the 2026-27 Revised Budget to set up a statue and cultural centre dedicated to Narayana Guru in New Delhi. He said the project is envisioned as an international hub for spreading the Guru’s philosophy across the world.

The Chief Minister expressed hope that Kerala would one day be able to declare itself truly secular. He urged Keralites to embody the ideals of ‘Sree Narayaneeyar’ so that the state is known as a place undivided by caste or religion.

Highlighting Narayana Guru’s uniqueness among India’s sage tradition, Mr. Satheesan said the Guru focused on addressing the everyday problems and sorrows of ordinary people. He stressed that the struggle for social justice must continue, noting that many sections of society remain marginalised and need education to be empowered.

The function was presided over by V. Muraleedharan MLA. Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust president Satchidananda delivered the jayanthi message, and Swami Sookshmananda and K.U. Janeesh Kumar MLA were among the speakers.
