Kerala Chief Minister has indicated that the United Democratic Front (UDF) will soon take a decision on the Enforcement Directorate's demand to prosecute Pinarayi Vijayan in connection with the CMRL pay-off case. The matter now rests with the UDF, which is expected to deliberate on the agency's request.
Opposition leader Satheesan said the ED had raised serious charges in its 25-page report submitted to the State Police Chief. He also claimed there is an apparent discrepancy between statements made by Pinarayi Vijayan and Mohamed Riyas concerning the so-called incriminating 'Red Book' that the ED claims to have confiscated from T. Veena.
The ED's report to the State Police Chief reportedly outlines the agency's findings, which Satheesan described as grave. The alleged inconsistency between the two leaders' accounts regarding the 'Red Book' has become a focal point of the opposition's criticism.
The UDF's forthcoming decision will determine whether the prosecution request moves forward. No timeline has been announced for the decision.
