Kerala General Administration Website Hacked, Pakistani Group Claims Role
The Kerala General Administration department's website was hacked on Sunday, with a Pakistani flag and a pro-Pakistan message posted on it, officials said.
The official website of the Kerala government's General Administration department was hacked on Sunday, with officials saying a suspected Pakistani group appeared to be behind the defacement.
According to department officials, the breach was detected in the morning after a Pakistani flag was posted on the site. A message claiming responsibility on behalf of a group identifying itself as "Team Blackleets" also appeared, along with a slogan praising Pakistan. The message stated that the hackers were Pakistani and that while many websites are targeted daily, it was the department's turn that day.
Once the defacement came to light, the hosting provider suspended the account, officials said. A cyber team is now examining whether any data breach took place, and the website will be restored only after it is confirmed to be secure.
The department plans to report the incident to the cyber police and will file a complaint shortly, officials added.
Key state government websites and e-governance programmes are operated by the Kerala State IT Mission.
