Kerala Police Arrest Two Foreign Women in Delhi Over MDMA Manufacturing

The Kannur City police have arrested two foreign nationals accused of manufacturing and supplying MDMA from Delhi, in what investigators describe as a breakthrough against an international drug trafficking network.

Kannur Range DIG K. Karthik identified the arrested as Chinelo Lilian, 36, a Nigerian national, and Philomene Chanceline, 30, from Cameroon. A police squad stayed in Delhi for nearly ten days before tracing and arresting the two women in Burari.

The case began with the arrest of a person named Rajinas, who was found with 0.6 grams of MDMA at New Mahe. Interrogation pointed to Muhammed Sameel as the supplier, and a search of his house and vehicle yielded 185 grams of MDMA.

Examination of Sameel's phone and bank records led investigators to Mujithaba alias Tabu, described as an intermediary who allegedly hid drugs at deserted locations and shared only the coordinates with others in the chain. Tabu was taken into custody from Bengaluru after a scientific investigation.

Police found that drugs were being sent to Kerala from Delhi through parcels. Acting on information shared by the Kerala Police, the Haryana Police arrested Tabu's associate, Arshad Ali, in Gurugram with 800 grams of MDMA.

Abdul Rahman and Ernakulam native Rishad were later arrested for allegedly arranging fake documents, SIM cards and mule bank accounts for the trade. The accused are said to have repeatedly changed SIM cards and moved crores of rupees through around 20 bank accounts.

The investigation was supervised by Mr. Karthik and Kannur District Police Chief B.V. Vijay Bhaskar Reddy, with Thalassery ASP M. Nandagopan leading the team. The Kannur DANSAF squad, the Thalassery ASP squad and Thalassery police were also part of the effort.

The District Police Chief said the Kannur police would continue their uncompromising action against the drug mafia.
