Third Arrest in Pune Realtor Cliff Murder: Friend of Accused Held for Conspiracy

Pune police arrest a third person, Ritesh Hange, in the murder of realtor Ketan Agarwal, alleging he conspired with the victim's fiancee and her alleged lover.

Pune Rural Police have made a third arrest in the murder of realtor Ketan Agarwal, who was pushed off a cliff at Lohagad fort in June. The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Ritesh Hange, was taken into custody on Saturday, September 5, 2026, for his alleged role in the conspiracy.

Hange is a friend of Chetan Choudhary, the man police say was romantically involved with Agarwal's fiancee, Siya Goyal. Both Choudhary and Goyal were previously arrested for the murder, which occurred on June 18.

Superintendent of Police Sandip Singh Gill confirmed that the investigation revealed Hange's involvement in the planning stages of the crime. Police allege that Hange was aware of an earlier scheme by Goyal and Choudhary to first injure Agarwal and then kill him.

According to officials, after the alleged murder at the fort, Choudhary contacted Hange to inform him of the act. Agarwal and Goyal had been engaged since February, but police suspect Goyal and Choudhary saw Agarwal as an obstacle to their relationship and plotted his elimination. The investigation is ongoing.
