A social media post alleging the discovery of a maggot inside a piece of fried chicken at a KFC outlet in Greater Noida West has gone viral, prompting an official response from both the company and food safety regulators.
The complaint was shared on X by a user, who posted photographs and videos showing what appears to be a maggot embedded within a piece of deep-fried chicken. The meal was reportedly served at the KFC branch located in Gaur City Mall, Uttar Pradesh. The visuals quickly drew strong reactions from users online, raising concerns about food quality and hygiene standards at the outlet.
In response to the viral post, KFC India issued a public apology on the platform. The company asked the customer to share their order ID so that a dedicated team could get in touch to address the grievance directly.
Meanwhile, taking cognizance of the matter, a team from the Food Safety Department arrived at the outlet to conduct an inspection. Food Safety Officer Sarvesh Kumar confirmed that the visit was prompted by the viral video. The team is currently examining the quality of food items and assessing the overall arrangements at the restaurant. Authorities also stated they are attempting to contact the individual who originally shared the video to gather further details. Action will be determined following the completion of the inspection.
