Kolkata to Host India Energy Week 2027 in January

Kolkata will host the fifth edition of India Energy Week (IEW) from 28–31 January 2027 at the New Town Convention Centre, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri and West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced. The event will be held under the theme "Unlocking Innovation. Securing Energy. Shaping Tomorrow."

The announcement marks the first time the flagship energy conclave will be held in eastern India, adding a new geographical dimension to the event by giving businesses, institutions and energy stakeholders from the region a platform to engage with international partners.

IEW 2027 is expected to draw more than 75,000 energy professionals and over 700 international exhibitors, along with decision-makers from the energy sector. The exhibition and conference programmes will cover oil and gas, LNG, refining and petrochemicals, hydrogen, biofuels, digitalisation and artificial intelligence, among other emerging areas.

Adhikari thanked Puri and the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas for bringing the event to West Bengal, saying a successful IEW 2027 would help attract new investment, expand existing projects and create employment opportunities in the state.

Since its debut in Bengaluru in 2023, India Energy Week has expanded in scale and international participation. The fourth edition in Goa in 2026 brought together more than 75,000 energy professionals, over 700 exhibiting companies, participants from more than 120 countries and 6,500-plus conference delegates. Seventeen ministers and deputy ministers from countries including the UAE, Canada, the Netherlands, Oman, Brunei, Myanmar and Tanzania took part, alongside international organisations such as the International Energy Forum, BIMSTEC and the Eurasian Economic Union.

Organised under the patronage of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, IEW 2027 is being organised by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI), with Informa Markets as conference organiser. The event is positioned as the first major global energy conclave of the year, focusing on energy security, affordability and sustainability, particularly for countries in the global South.
