KPCC sets up three-member panel to probe scuffle involving MLA Ramya Haridas

KPCC forms three-member panel led by M.M. Hassan to investigate scuffle involving MLA Ramya Haridas and party workers.

The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has constituted a three-member panel to investigate a scuffle involving Chirayinkeezhu MLA Ramya Haridas and local party workers. KPCC president Sunny Joseph acknowledged that organisational decorum was not maintained during the interaction that escalated into the incident.

The committee will be headed by former KPCC president M.M. Hassan. KPCC general secretary Ramani P. Nair, who oversaw the constituency's election affairs, and Neyyattinkara Sanal are the other members of the panel. The committee has been tasked with submitting its report at the earliest.

Mr. Joseph assured that strict action would be taken against those found responsible once the investigation concludes. The move is seen as an effort to resolve the matter internally within the party, potentially avoiding legal proceedings and arrests.

Sources indicate that the committee has asked both groups involved in the incident to appear before it on Sunday as part of the inquiry process.
