Kristen Stewart Reunites With Olivier Assayas for 'Spiritual World'

Kristen Stewart is set to reunite with French director Olivier Assayas for his upcoming film "Spiritual World", in which she will play a pivotal role.

The supernatural drama will also feature Vicky Krieps, Riley Keough and Wagner Moura, alongside Barbara Sukowa and Niels Schneider.

The project marks another collaboration between Assayas and Stewart, who earned a Cesar Award for best supporting actress for her performance opposite Juliette Binoche in his 2015 film "Clouds of Sils Maria". She subsequently took the lead in "Personal Shopper", a supernatural drama that won Assayas the best director prize at Cannes.

"Spiritual World" is described as being in a similar vein to "Personal Shopper" but steamier. Stewart will portray a haunted, clairvoyant young woman troubled by mysterious premonitions.

Production is scheduled to begin in February across France and Germany, with an international cast.

Assayas is reteaming with Paris-based producer Olivier Delbosc on the film. The two previously worked together on "The Wizard of the Kremlin", a political thriller starring Jude Law as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Paul Dano as a spin doctor named Vadim Baranov. That film, which also featured Alicia Vikander, had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.

Arte France, the Franco-German network, is co-financing "Spiritual World", which is currently being developed by Delbosc without a French studio attached.
