KSRTC to run 2,400 extra buses for Gowri-Ganesha rush
KSRTC will operate 2,400 special buses from September 11-13 for the Gowri-Ganesha festival, with return services from September 14.
The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will deploy 2,400 additional buses from Bengaluru to manage the anticipated passenger surge during the Gowri-Ganesha festival. The special services will run from September 11 to 13, ahead of the festival on September 14 and the weekend holidays on September 12 and 13.
From the Kempegowda Bus Station, buses will head to destinations including Dharmasthala, Kukke Subrahmanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Sringeri, Horanadu, Davangere, Hubballi, Dharwad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Koppal, Yadgir and Bidar. Inter-state services will also operate to Tirupati, Vijayawada and Hyderabad.
Departures from the Mysuru Road Bus Station will connect to Mysuru, Hunsur, Piriyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalnagar and Madikeri. From the BMTC bus station at Shanthinagar TTMC, premier services will run to cities in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, including Madurai, Kumbakonam, Chennai, Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam and Kozhikode.
Return services towards Bengaluru from various intra-state and inter-state points will operate from September 14. Passengers can book in advance via KSRTC's online portal or at booking counters. A 5% discount applies for groups of four or more travelling on a single ticket, and a 10% discount is offered on simultaneously booked return tickets. Additional services will be added from taluk and district bus stands based on demand.
