KTR and three co-accused to appear before ACB court in Formula E case
K.T. Rama Rao and three co-accused in the Formula E race case are set to appear before the ACB court in Nampally on Friday.
Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president and Sircilla MLA K.T. Rama Rao is scheduled to appear before the Anti-Corruption Bureau court at the CBI complex in Nampally on Friday, September 18, at 10.30 a.m., along with three other accused in the Formula E race case.
Mr. Rama Rao is listed as accused number one. The others expected to attend the proceedings are IAS officer Arvind Kumar (A2), former HMDA chief engineer B.L.N. Reddy (A3) and former sports consultant Goveda Kiran Malleswara Rao (A4).
The ACB filed its chargesheet in the case in March, alleging irregularities in the transfer of about ₹55 crore from HMDA accounts to Formula E Operations in 2023 for a proposed Formula E race in Hyderabad. The agency has alleged that the payments were made without mandatory approvals and in violation of established financial procedures.
The ACB court subsequently took cognisance of the chargesheet and summoned the accused.
The case relates to arrangements for the Formula E championship in Hyderabad. A Formula E race was held in the city in February 2023, while the investigation concerns payments connected with plans to conduct a subsequent edition.
