Kunickaa Sadanand Joins Rakhi Ad Debate With Dig at Kangana Ranaut

Kunickaa Sadanand mocks Kangana Ranaut over her criticism of Kriti Sanon's Raksha Bandhan ad, sharing an old Kangana ad.

Actor Kunickaa Sadanand has waded into the controversy surrounding Kriti Sanon's withdrawn Raksha Bandhan advertisement, taking a pointed dig at Kangana Ranaut.

On X, Sadanand shared what appears to be an older Raksha Bandhan advertisement featuring Ranaut, who is seen in a strapless outfit with a deep neckline. The accompanying caption read, "Mera kutta kutta, tera kutta Tommy???" — a remark widely interpreted as a swipe at Ranaut's recent comments.

The post comes days after Ranaut criticised the outfit worn by Sanon in a jewellery brand's Raksha Bandhan campaign. That advertisement, which showed Sanon in a contemporary ensemble featuring a bralette-style blouse, cape, and draped skirt, drew heavy criticism from some social media users who questioned its suitability for the festival.

Ranaut had shared her views on Instagram Stories, questioning the styling choice. She wrote that with so many clothing options available to women today, the advertisement's look seemed "intentionally creepy."

Following the backlash, GIVA withdrew the campaign. In a statement, the brand said it respects Indian culture and traditions and had no intention of hurting religious or cultural sentiments.

The resurfaced old advertisement featuring Ranaut has since sparked comparisons online, with several users accusing her of hypocrisy over her remarks on women's clothing and festival traditions.
