Russian Strike on Kyiv Logistics Hub Sparks Major Fire, Air Alerts Halt Rescue Work

A Russian attack on logistics facilities in the Brovary district of the Kyiv region triggered a significant fire on Wednesday, according to Ukrainian authorities. Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene to manage the blaze.

Firefighting crews worked to contain the flames using water hoses, while a helicopter was deployed for aerial support, dropping water to assist ground teams. The State Emergency Service confirmed the coordinated response.

However, the operation was repeatedly interrupted by air raid alerts, forcing rescuers to halt their work and take shelter for safety. The disruptions slowed efforts to bring the fire under control.

Russia has consistently targeted Ukraine with missiles, glide bombs, and drones, striking civilian infrastructure and causing thousands of casualties, as documented by the United Nations. In the first six months of this year, the UN office in Kyiv reported 1,396 civilian deaths and 7,978 injuries, a 37% increase compared to the same period last year.

Separately, Ukraine's Defense Ministry stated that its forces struck road, rail, and pontoon bridges in six regions last month, part of a campaign to disrupt Russian military supply lines to the front in eastern and southern Ukraine.
