Lionel Richie Home and Recovering After Post-Concert Hospital Visit

Lionel Richie is back home after a precautionary hospital stay following his St. Louis concert, where he reportedly appeared to struggle.

Lionel Richie is back home and recovering after a brief hospital stay that followed his performance in St. Louis over the weekend. The singer took the stage on Saturday night for The Muny's annual summer finale concert, marking his first performance since the conclusion of his recent tour.

A source close to the tour said Richie was admitted to the hospital as a precaution after the show. Audience members reported that the singer appeared to struggle toward the end of the set, and he performed his closing number, "All Night Long," while seated.

The incident echoes a similar episode from late June, when Richie felt dizzy on stage during the opening night of his tour with Earth, Wind & Fire in Minnesota. That performance also saw him sing from a chair. Following that show, he postponed two dates in Columbus and Chicago on medical advice, returning to the stage on June 30 in Pittsburgh.

Richie has a busy schedule ahead, with "King of Hearts" shows at the Wynn in Las Vegas scheduled for October and November. Ten more performances are listed on his website for 2026, beginning with a date at the Chase Centre in San Francisco on September 26.
