Lokesh Directs Andhra Collectors to Raise School Education Outcomes

Andhra Pradesh Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh has asked District Collectors to pursue focused measures aimed at lifting educational outcomes and improving the overall quality of school education in the state.

Speaking at the Collectors' Conference in Amaravati, he called for a clear action plan to help schools reach full results and stressed the need to push the pass percentage in Board examinations higher.

Mr. Lokesh also underlined the importance of structurally sound school buildings and high construction standards, directing officials to treat the safety and quality of educational infrastructure as a priority.

On skill development, the Minister said ITIs and polytechnic colleges were being linked with industries so that students acquire skills that match industry requirements. The Naipunya web portal, he added, was being used to bring employment opportunities and skill-development tools within reach of young people.

He said the Education Department was widening its focus beyond conventional literacy to include digital and financial literacy, with the aim of equipping students and young people with skills relevant to daily life and a changing economy.

Students were also being trained to respond appropriately during natural disasters, including precautionary measures and self-protection techniques, which the Minister said would build awareness and preparedness.

Mr. Lokesh further stated that the government was working on a roadmap for curriculum reforms, with efforts under way to make the education system more responsive to emerging needs and to give students relevant knowledge and skills.
