Lokesh Vows Water, Gas and Drainage for Every Mangalagiri Home by 2029
Nara Lokesh distributed 372 title deeds and PMAY letters in Mangalagiri and pledged piped water, gas and underground drainage for every household by 2029.
Minister for IT and HRD Nara Lokesh has said he will take personal responsibility for extending drinking water supply, piped gas connections and underground drainage facilities to every household in the Mangalagiri constituency by 2029. He also reiterated his commitment to honouring every assurance given during the 2024 elections.
He was speaking on Monday after distributing permanent title deeds and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) sanction letters to 372 beneficiaries from the constituency.
The Minister said Mangalagiri's long-pending demand for a 100-bed hospital was set to be fulfilled soon. Recalling that several leaders had urged him in 2019 to promise house-site title deeds for the poor in the constituency, he said he had avoided a hasty commitment. It was only after studying the constituency's problems that he made the promise and then delivered on it, he added.
According to Mr. Lokesh, the NDA government is now issuing permanent title deeds to eligible beneficiaries. Lands worth nearly ₹2,000 crore have been distributed in the constituency so far, through 6,060 deeds across three phases.
Speaking about his work as HRD Minister, he pointed to reforms in the education sector, including the transformation of Nidamarru Zilla Parishad High School into a model institution matching global standards. All government schools in the State would be developed on similar lines, he said.
He also cited the development of the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Mangalagiri town as one of his major initiatives.
A.P. State Medical Services & Infrastructure Development Corporation chairman Chillapalli Srinivasa Rao, TDP Politburo member Guthikonda Dhanunjay, TTD Board member Tammisetti Janaki Devi and others were present at the event.
