"Lower Saxony is automotive country... and this must remain so," Lies stated at the Hanover facility, which is one of five Volkswagen plants currently facing potential closure. His remarks highlight the growing concern over the future of manufacturing operations within the state.
Lies, who serves on the company's supervisory board alongside representatives of the owner families and labor unions, stressed that stakeholders must work together to identify ways to maintain production in the region.
