Madgaon Express 2: Kunal Kemmu's Comedy Sequel to Begin Filming in Early 2027
Kunal Kemmu's Madgaon Express 2 is slated to start production around February-March 2027, with the lead trio returning.
The chaotic trio from Madgaon Express is set to reunite for another adventure. Director Kunal Kemmu has reportedly completed the screenplay for the sequel to his 2024 directorial debut, with production expected to begin around February or March 2027.
The film is currently in pre-production, according to sources. Actors Pratik Gandhi, Divyenndu, and Avinash Tiwary are expected to reprise their roles as the three childhood friends whose planned Goa getaway descended into a series of absurd misadventures involving drugs and criminals.
Kemmu, who wrote and directed the original, has also penned the script for the follow-up. The first film became a surprise success, largely due to the chemistry between its three leads and its humorous take on friendship. For the sequel, Kemmu is said to be focusing on expanding the existing world of the characters rather than simply repeating the scenarios of the first film, keeping the trio's friendship at the story's core.
Before work begins on Madgaon Express 2, Kemmu's next directorial venture, Vibe, is scheduled for release on September 18. That film features Preity Zinta and Sparsh Shrivastava alongside Kemmu.
