The issue was traced to Engine No. 2, and the aircraft was later towed to a parking bay for detailed inspection. Passengers were provided accommodation at the airport while the airline arranged onward travel.
In a separate development, an Air India Express flight from Tiruchirappalli to Singapore was also diverted to Chennai due to a technical snag. A local standby was declared, and emergency agencies were put on alert. The aircraft landed without incident and vacated the runway under its own power. The airline's engineering teams are assessing the issue, and airport operations have remained normal throughout.
