Manasi Parekh recalls warm welcome at Tibet spot now submerged in flash floods

Actor Manasi Parekh, who is currently in China, has shared a distressing update about the flash floods that have hit Gyirong Port in Tibet, near the Nepal border. She revealed that she had been at the exact location just five days ago and had planned to return, but the area is now submerged.

In an Instagram video, Parekh said, "This is what happened. We were supposed to be here tomorrow morning." She also posted a story recalling her earlier visit, writing, "I was literally welcomed at this spot five days ago. So warmly! And now the whole place is submerged."

The actor expressed her grief over the tragedy and prayed for those affected. "Life is uncertain, but what has happened is absolutely heartbreaking. We are constantly praying for the people affected by this tragedy. By God's Grace, we are safe in China and Isha Foundation is doing its best to get us back home as well as find those who are in the midst of the floods," she wrote, tagging Sadhguru.

The flash floods have caused widespread damage in Nepal, particularly along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers. According to the Nepal Tourism Board, 178 Indian nationals are among those reported missing in the districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and Gorkha. In total, 644 travellers, including 127 Nepali nationals, were initially reported missing. Citizens from Ukraine, Australia, and Canada are also unaccounted for.

Rescue operations are underway, with Nepal's security forces using helicopters and ground teams to reach affected areas. Roads and bridges have been damaged, and authorities are providing medical help, temporary shelters, food, water, and medicines to those in need.
