Manginapudi Beach Ready for 11-Day Maha Ganapathi Utsavams

Manginapudi beach in Krishna district is fully prepared to host the 11-day Maha Ganapathi Utsavams, which will open with Vinayaka Chavithi puja on September 14. The beach has been decorated for the occasion and elaborate arrangements have been made for the devotees expected to attend.

Special pujas will be conducted for the 63-foot Ganesh idol installed at the venue, and teertha prasadams will be distributed to devotees at the pandal. Cultural programmes are scheduled near the Mandapam every day from 5 p.m., according to the organisers.

Mines and Geology Minister Kollu Ravindra and Krishna district Collector D. K. Balaji visited the beach on Sunday and reviewed the preparations with officials. The Collector instructed AP Transco engineers to illuminate the beach through the festival period and directed officials to ensure drinking water, medical camps and transport facilities for visitors. The Fire Services Department has been asked to keep fire tenders on standby at the beach.

With an eye on the idol immersion, Mr. Ravindra directed officials to give priority to the safety and security of devotees taking part in the festivities and the nimajjanam. Foolproof arrangements have been ordered for the immersion of Ganesh idols at Gilakaladindi Harbour. Fisheries Department officials were told to deploy expert swimmers and boats at the harbour and to ensure adequate electricity supply for the immersion.

Personnel from the Revenue, Medical and Health, Police, AP Transco, Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation, Fire Services and other departments are monitoring the arrangements. The police have made their own security arrangements for the festivities.
