Six-member gang breaks into Manikonda apartment, threatens resident
A six-member gang broke into a Manikonda apartment complex early on Sunday, stole valuables worth about ₹80,000 and threatened a resident before fleeing.
A six-member gang broke into an apartment complex in Manikonda, Hyderabad, in the early hours of Sunday, stealing valuables and threatening a resident who confronted them, police said.
The incident took place at Flotilla Apartment, under the limits of Narsingi Police Station, at around 3.30 a.m.
According to Narsingi Police Inspector D. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, the intruders cut through the fencing around the complex to enter the premises. They then climbed the staircase to a locked flat in C Block, broke into it and made off with items valued at roughly ₹80,000.
When a resident confronted the gang, the suspects allegedly attacked and threatened him with weapons before fleeing the complex.
The break-in caused panic among residents, particularly in light of the gang's notoriety for serial offences in which members, often half-naked, target houses.
Police reached the spot after being alerted and have begun examining CCTV footage from the premises to identify the suspects and trace their movements.
