Chandigarh Police Arrest Key Suspect in Punjabi Influencer Manjeet Kaur Murder Case

In a significant breakthrough in the murder case of Punjabi influencer Manjeet Kaur, Chandigarh Police's Sector-34 station has arrested Parminder Singh alias Pinda, a 25-year-old man believed to be closely linked to the prime suspect, Rinku. The arrest comes as investigators work to piece together the events that led to Kaur's death.

Police have also recovered a Toyota Fortuner from the Sector-48 Motor Market, which they allege was used in Kaur's abduction. Parminder, a resident of Khanowal village in Kapurthala district, reportedly ran an immigration business in Kharar but had begun working as a driver for Rinku just days before the incident. The two were also said to be friends.

According to the complaint filed by Kaur's mother, Kanta Devi, her daughter was called to Sector 34 by Rinku and Parminder on the night of July 3-4. There, she was allegedly assaulted and forced into a vehicle. The accused then drove her to a forested area near Morinda, where they tied her to a tree and set her on fire before fleeing.

A person who knew Kaur reportedly reached the spot and extinguished the flames with a blanket. She was rushed to a hospital in Morinda in critical condition and later transferred to PGIMER, Chandigarh. She was subsequently moved to Max Hospital in Mohali for further treatment, but her condition worsened and she was referred back to PGIMER, where she succumbed to her injuries.

With Parminder in custody, police are now interrogating him to determine his precise role in the crime and to trace Rinku's whereabouts after the incident. Raids are being conducted at multiple locations to apprehend the main accused. The investigation is ongoing.
