Video in Manjeet Kaur Burn Case Surfaces as Police Arrest One, Hunt for Rinku On

A video of Chandigarh-based social media influencer Manjeet Kaur, recorded while she was undergoing treatment for severe burn injuries, has surfaced online, giving the investigation into her death a new dimension.

In the clip, Manjeet is seen recounting the incident and stating that an attempt was made to burn her alive. She names Surjit, Shubhi, Neha and two men accompanying Shubhi, and appeals to the administration to punish those responsible at the earliest.

Manjeet was first admitted to a private hospital in Mohali after suffering severe burns. She was later referred to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, where the video is reported to have been recorded. She fought for her life for close to three months before succumbing to her injuries in the last week of August.

In the initial complaint filed by her family, it was alleged that Manjeet had been kidnapped and set on fire. With the video now in circulation, investigators are expected to examine its authenticity, the circumstances in which it was recorded, and the allegations she made.

Chandigarh Police have arrested one person in connection with the case, identified as Parminder Singh alias Pinda. He has been described as an associate of the alleged main accused, Rinku. Investigators are questioning him to piece together the sequence of events leading up to the attack and Manjeet's death, while a search is on for Rinku, who remains at large.
