Miss World Uganda's C-Section Gown Stuns at Vietnam Fashion Fest

Miss World Uganda, Elle Muhoza, made a striking statement at the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest in Nha Trang on August 27, wearing a custom couture gown inspired by the seven layers of tissue involved in a Cesarean section. The dress, titled 'The Layers of Life,' was designed by Keesha Abdallah and served as a tribute to motherhood, womanhood, and the miracle of childbirth.

The gown featured layered fabrics in white, yellow, pink, and red, based on an illustration depicting the anatomical layers encountered during a C-section: skin, fat, fascia, rectus muscles, peritoneum, uterus muscle, and the amniotic sac. Abdallah explained on Instagram that the concept was inspired by the extraordinary journey of bringing life into the world, with each color and layer representing a stage, texture, or transition in that process. She clarified that the colors were not meant to represent any particular race, emphasizing that life is universal and belongs to no single country or color.

Abdallah, a new mother herself, said the gown was created to celebrate womanhood, the human body, and the miracle of life. The design has drawn widespread praise, particularly from women who have undergone C-sections. One commenter called it "an absolute masterpiece," while another described it as "incredibly powerful." A woman who had two C-sections wrote that the design made her feel seen.

Muhoza wore the gown during the 17th edition of the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest, themed 'Soul of Heritage,' where Miss World contestants presented couture designs. The grand finale of the 73rd Miss World Festival is being held on September 5 in Nha Trang, coinciding with the Miss World Organisation's 75th anniversary.
