PM Modi to Chair Two-Day Chintan Shivir With Cabinet Ministers

PM Modi will chair a two-day Chintan Shivir with cabinet ministers on September 23-24 at Seva Tirath, Delhi, to review progress and plan reforms for Viksit Bharat 2047.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a two-day 'Chintan Shivir' of the Union Council of Ministers on September 23 and 24 at Seva Tirath in Delhi, according to government sources. The session will be attended exclusively by cabinet ministers, setting it apart from earlier consultations that included a wider set of participants.

The meeting follows a series of separate interactions the Prime Minister recently held with ministers of state and ministers of state with independent charge at his office. The sequence suggests a tiered approach, with cabinet ministers now set for their own dedicated two-day sitting.

The Chintan Shivir will focus on three broad objectives: reviewing work already in progress, planning future steps, and identifying the next set of reforms and priorities for Viksit Bharat 2047. The exercise has been underway since 2021, when ten sectoral groups of secretaries were formed to draft the Vision@2047 document along with short-term and long-term roadmaps. Since then, the Council of Ministers has held eight presentations and discussions on various aspects of the vision.

Sources said the upcoming session will consolidate the work of the groups of secretaries, various ministries and departments, the cabinet secretariat, and NITI Aayog. Key areas include reforms, ease of living, reducing compliance burdens, and other governance priorities. More rounds of the Chintan Shivir are expected in the coming days.

Day one will begin around 4:30 pm and continue late into the night, while day two will start around 10 am and run until late evening.
