Modi Meets Vietnamese Counterpart Le Minh Hung on BRICS Summit Sidelines
PM Modi met Vietnam's PM Le Minh Hung in New Delhi, welcoming Vietnam as a BRICS Partner Country and reviewing bilateral ties.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with H.E. Mr. Le Minh Hung, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on the margins of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi welcomed Vietnam's participation in the summit as a Partner Country. The two leaders took stock of the progress achieved in bilateral relations, which were elevated to an Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the State Visit of H.E. Mr. To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, to India in May 2026.
The discussions also covered a range of regional and global developments of shared interest. Both sides restated their commitment to deepening the partnership further.
India and Vietnam share a long-standing friendship anchored in civilizational links, mutual trust and understanding. Vietnam remains a key pillar of India's Act East Policy and an important partner in New Delhi's wider engagement with Southeast Asia.
