PM Modi urges drug-free India in Mann Ki Baat, praises youth-led campaign

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the 137th episode of his monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat', made a strong appeal for a drug-free India, linking the cause directly to the nation's future.

He highlighted the ongoing 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat' campaign, describing it as a movement gaining momentum across the country. The Prime Minister noted that the campaign's objective is clear: to ensure a drug-free youth and, consequently, a drug-free India.

Modi emphasised that the initiative has drawn significant participation, particularly from young people. He framed the effort as a collective resolve towards the health, happiness, and bright future of the country's youth.

Addressing the broader impact of substance abuse, the Prime Minister stated that addiction does not affect just one individual; its consequences are felt by the entire family and society. He commended those who are raising awareness about the dangers of drugs and those who are coming forward to help individuals dealing with addiction.

In a separate segment of the broadcast, PM Modi also drew attention to a digital initiative by Mumbai's Krishna Sheshadri. He described a website that allows users to select any year and learn about the rulers of different parts of Bharat during that period, showcasing a technological effort to make history accessible.
