PM Modi Reviews Cyber Fraud, Digital Arrest Cases at PRAGATI Meet
PM Modi reviewed cyber fraud cases at the 53rd PRAGATI meeting, calling for sustained training, public awareness, and capacity building to counter emerging fraud modes.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday chaired the 53rd meeting of PRAGATI, the ICT-enabled platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation, at Seva Teerth. The meeting focused on a review of cyber fraud cases, including incidents of digital arrest, alongside key infrastructure and agricultural projects.
During the review, the Prime Minister stressed the need to strengthen prevention through a sustained focus on training, awareness, and education. He called for regular capacity-building of personnel to ensure that emerging modes of cyber fraud are identified and acted upon swiftly.
Modi also emphasised the importance of continuous and targeted public-awareness campaigns, particularly for senior citizens, youth, and other vulnerable sections. These campaigns are intended to familiarise citizens with common fraud techniques, warning signs, and safe digital practices.
In addition to cyber fraud, the Prime Minister reviewed six key infrastructure projects in the Railway, Road, and Power sectors. These projects, spread across several states, have a cumulative investment of more than Rs 30,000 crore. The review focused on adherence to timelines, inter-agency coordination, resolution of pending issues, and expeditious completion.
The meeting also included a review of the AgriStack project under the Digital Agriculture Mission. Modi emphasised leveraging the latest digital technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, to derive greater value from agricultural data. He stressed that the data ecosystem should be effectively utilised across the agricultural value chain, from input planning to processing, enabling more informed interventions and data-driven decision-making.
The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of states and the central government in building the AgriStack ecosystem and called for further strengthening its use for better farmer outcomes. He also underscored that speed of execution must be accompanied by uncompromising quality, urging ministries, states, and implementing agencies to adopt modern technologies and strengthen quality assurance at every stage.
