Two unidentified motorcycle-borne gunmen opened fire at a Hair Master salon near CP67 Mall in Mohali on Wednesday evening, triggering panic in the busy commercial area. The assailants reportedly fired several rounds at the shop before fleeing the scene.
Police teams reached the spot shortly after receiving information. DSP Mohali Harsimran Singh Bal confirmed that the salon alerted authorities around 8:30 pm. An FIR has been registered, and special investigation teams have been constituted to trace the suspects.
Bal said investigators are examining multiple angles, including the possibility of an extortion demand targeting the salon. He noted that Punjab Police had previously provided security cover to the salon owners, and all leads are being pursued to determine the motive behind the attack.
CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed to establish the sequence of events and identify the motorcycle-borne suspects. Authorities have not officially confirmed any injuries from the firing and are verifying the exact number of rounds discharged.
