Kerala Launches AI-Powered Mukulam Portal for Public School Students
Kerala has rolled out the Mukulam AI portal, developed by KITE, to give public school students free preparation support for entrance exams like NEET, JEE and CUET.
The Mukulam portal, developed by the Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE), was inaugurated on Tuesday as part of the State government's 100-day programme. The platform uses artificial intelligence to extend equal opportunities in competitive examinations to public school students.
Speaking at the launch, Minister for General Education N. Samsudheen said initiatives such as Mukulam would help the higher secondary sector achieve excellence, and stressed that they should be implemented effectively in schools.
The portal offers free AI-based training to higher secondary and vocational higher secondary students preparing for entrance tests including NEET, JEE, CUET and KVPY, as well as for admission to IISER. According to the Minister, students who cannot afford private tuition owing to financial difficulties will benefit from the platform.
AI has been integrated into Mukulam to identify individual students' learning requirements and provide the necessary support and practice. Digital learning material covering around 10 subjects across the Science, Commerce and Humanities streams is available on the website.
After a pilot run in 25 select schools, the portal has now been extended to reach all higher secondary and vocational higher secondary students in the State.
The Minister also inaugurated a one-day workshop for principals of higher secondary schools on the occasion. Director of General Education Arun K. Vijayan presided over the function, and KITE Chief Executive Director K. Anvar Sadath was present.
