Mumbai Dahi Handi: Stars, Cricketers Join Festive Human Pyramids

Mumbai's Dahi Handi celebrations, part of the ongoing Janmashtami festivities, drew thousands of participants and a host of celebrities on Saturday. Traditional hubs across the city and neighbouring areas turned into vibrant scenes of music, dance, and towering human pyramids, with all-women troupes also making their mark in the physically demanding ritual.

Actor Govinda attended the Youth Shakti Dahi Handi event, where his presence energised the crowd. He was seen dancing to popular tracks from his filmography, including 'Husn Hai Suhana' and 'Kisi Disco Mein Jaaye'. Speaking to the media, Govinda described the event as more than a game, emphasising the importance of carrying forward the country's heritage and moving ahead on a global scale. He also expressed gratitude for the support he has received and sought cooperation for his upcoming film projects.

Actor Randeep Hooda joined the Yuva Shakti Dahi Handi celebrations earlier in the day. He highlighted the significance of the festival, noting that the event fosters a sense of togetherness as teams of 'Govindas' practice with great enthusiasm and create a fantastic atmosphere.

At the MNS Dahi Handi celebrations, actor Riteish Deshmukh was present with his wife Genelia. He also participated by joining children in breaking a matki. Cricketer Suryakumar Yadav attended the same event, much to the delight of young fans. He took part in the matki fod ritual and signed autographs. Commenting on the high-energy and competitive atmosphere, Yadav suggested that matki fod should be recognised as a proper sport in the future. He also encouraged the youth to work hard for their dreams and seize the right opportunities.

Actor Veer Pahariya, attending a Dahi Handi event in Thane, extended his wishes for a Happy Janmashtami and Dahi Handi, calling the celebration fantastic and wonderful.
