Mysuru Film City Project Gets Push for Timely, Quality Execution

The Karnataka government is moving ahead with plans to establish an international-standard film city in Mysuru under a public-private partnership (PPP) model. Urban Development Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah on Tuesday reviewed the project's progress with senior officials in Bengaluru, emphasizing the need for timely and high-quality execution.

The proposed facility is envisioned as a comprehensive hub for the film and entertainment industry, featuring state-of-the-art studios, advanced technical infrastructure, and post-production facilities. Officials said the project aims to strengthen Mysuru's position as a key destination for filmmaking while also giving a boost to the region's cultural, tourism, and economic development.

During the review meeting at Vikas Soudha, the Minister directed officials to provide regular updates on each stage of the project and to proactively address any challenges that could cause delays. He stressed the importance of maintaining quality standards and ensuring effective implementation, keeping in mind public interest and the city's tourism potential.

The meeting was attended by Department of Information and Public Relations Secretary J. Manjunath, Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Lakshmikanth Reddy (via online mode), Under Secretary to Government M. Jacinta, Joint Director Manjunath Dollin, and other senior officials.
