Centre backs Amaravati Quantum Bio Valley, to send technical team
Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda assured Andhra Pradesh of central support for the Amaravati Quantum Bio Valley and said a technical team would visit for talks.
The Union government will back Andhra Pradesh's plans to set up the Amaravati Quantum Bio Valley, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare J.P. Nadda said on Saturday, responding to a proposal from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to grant the project national recognition.
Speaking at the Old Government General Hospital in Vijayawada, where he inaugurated a Critical Care Block, Mr. Nadda said a technical team would be sent to Amaravati for further discussions. He welcomed the Chief Minister's vision for the project and said the suggestions put forward would be examined.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and State Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav were present at the event.
The Union Minister also commended the state's Sanjeevani programme, which is designed to detect diseases at an early stage and improve life expectancy. He said the Centre would study the initiative and assess whether it could be rolled out nationally.
Mr. Nadda further acknowledged Mr. Naidu's focus on the Polavaram, Veligonda and Handri-Neeva projects, noting that efficient use of water resources would support the state's development.
