BJP chief tells Tamil Nadu CM: Assembly is not your cinema studio
BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran criticises CM Vijay's Assembly speech, saying the House is not a cinema studio and urging focus on law and order.
Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagenthran on Monday took strong exception to Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay's address in the Legislative Assembly, asserting that the House is not a platform for cinematic theatrics. He accused the Chief Minister of raising his voice and delivering catchy one-liners, which he described as 'indecent politics' that shows a disconnect from the ground reality of law and order.
Nagenthran urged Vijay to instead speak on issues concerning the welfare of the people. He pointed to recent crime data, including ten murders reported in Coimbatore district over the past month and two murders in Chennai on a single day. He also noted that six deaths had occurred in police stations since the TVK-led government assumed office.
"When this is the situation, you should have given your reply regarding the law and order situation," Nagenthran said, adding that the Chief Minister should take responsibility for the deteriorating law and order and propose concrete measures to ensure public safety. His remarks came in response to Vijay's speech in the Assembly, which the BJP leader felt was more style than substance.
