Naidu Says Jagan's Arrest Won't Serve Revenge, Vows Push for Economic Equality
Andhra Pradesh CM Naidu says jailing Jagan for personal revenge won't help anyone, and vows to aggressively pursue economic equality and better living standards.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said that arresting YSRCP leader Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy purely to settle personal scores would not deliver any benefit to the people. He made the remark while asserting that his focus remains on achieving economic equality and improving living standards across the state.
Naidu drew a comparison between the damage the state suffered during the YSRCP's time in power and the losses it incurred when Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated. In his assessment, the harm caused during the previous government's tenure exceeded what the state lost due to the division.
The Chief Minister described his approach as aggressive when it comes to securing economic equality and better living conditions for the people of Andhra Pradesh. He framed his political stance around those developmental goals rather than retribution against his predecessor.
The comments come amid continuing political friction between the ruling TDP-led dispensation and the opposition YSRCP in the state.
