Naidu, Rajnath, Yogi offer prayers at Kashi Vishwanath as BJP marks Modi's 25 years in public life
Chandrababu Naidu performed Panchamrit Abhishek at Kashi Vishwanath with Rajnath Singh, Yogi Adityanath and Chirag Paswan during the Varanasi-Vadnagar Seva Yatra.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi on Thursday, joining Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Chirag Paswan for the Varanasi-Vadnagar Seva Yatra, which marks Prime Minister Narendra Modi's completion of 25 years in public service.
The group performed a "Panchamrit Abhishek" at the temple. Union Minister and Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary also took part, and TDP MPs Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu and Sana Satish were present.
Speaking to reporters afterwards, Naidu described the occasion as historic and said it was a matter of great joy to mark the Prime Minister's birthday at the temple in Kashi. He said Modi was steering the country towards development and that the Indian economy stood on a stronger footing because of the decisions the Prime Minister had taken and the reforms being implemented under his leadership.
"It is a very historic day. We are very happy to celebrate the PM's birthday in Kashi Vishwanath Temple," Naidu said. "The Prime Minister has brought this nation to great glory. In another 25 years' time, India will become a developed nation under his leadership. All of us have to serve the nation. It is not an option."
The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, who is 76, reiterated that the country's economic position had improved under Modi's stewardship and that public service was a shared responsibility.
