Naidu Urges Kuppam Farmers to Turn MSME Entrepreneurs as Poultry Push Gains Pace
Chandrababu Naidu has asked Kuppam farmers to become MSME entrepreneurs, citing a pilot project for Environmentally Controlled poultry sheds with IB Group.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called on farmers in Kuppam to evolve into MSME entrepreneurs, describing entrepreneurship as the most effective route to the constituency's economic growth.
Speaking during an interaction with poultry farmers in Kuppam on Tuesday, Mr. Naidu said the government had rolled out a pilot project to set up Environmentally Controlled (EC) poultry sheds on a large scale in collaboration with IB Group. The initiative is aimed at promoting climate-resilient poultry farming in the region.
"Our goal is to enable farmers to grow into MSME entrepreneurs," he said, adding that all clearances required for EC sheds would be issued in real time so that units can be established without delay.
According to the Chief Minister, Andhra Pradesh is implementing a dedicated policy to support the poultry sector. Alongside this, the government is concentrating on dairy, horticulture and sericulture to broaden and diversify farm incomes.
Mr. Naidu attributed the growing demand for poultry products to shifting food habits, noting a sharp rise in the consumption of protein-rich chicken and eggs. This, he said, has opened up considerable market opportunities for farmers.
To help them capitalise on this demand, the government is working on improving road and rail connectivity, which would allow poultry products to move faster from Kuppam to major markets, including Bengaluru.
He observed that improved connectivity was helping Kuppam emerge as a satellite township of Bengaluru, and urged farmers to take advantage of government support to transform the constituency into a hub for agri-business and industry.
