Bihar Groping Case Accused's Facebook Videos Show Bravado, Beer and Cash

The Facebook profile of Nandan Yadav, a key accused in the Bihar groping case, offers a window into the persona he cultivated online — one built on swagger and confrontation.
His timeline is filled with videos in which he poses aggressively, alone or with friends, almost always set to Bhojpuri tracks with provocative lyrics and templated dialogues. The aim, apparent in every clip, was to project a larger-than-life image.
In one reel, Yadav is seen holding up beer bottles with his friends. In another, he dances with women who appear to belong to an orchestra group, showering them with cash in a style borrowed from Bollywood. A voiceover in one video carries a warning: "I am the younger son of the house. I may not have money, but I am short-tempered."
Another clip shows two young girls travelling in a train, recorded apparently without their consent.
Viewed on their own, the videos might seem harmless. Seen alongside the allegation against him — that he molested a minor girl — they read differently, as an expression of ego and manufactured machismo.
That same attitude was on display in the Jamui video that triggered the case, in which a Class 10 boy was allegedly assaulted and his minor friend groped. The boy tried to protect his friend but was overpowered, and the group attempted to separate the two. Yadav, wearing an orange mask, allegedly lifted the girl and groped her.
He was arrested along with four others. Police later shot him in the leg when he allegedly tried to escape custody. A fresh video that surfaced subsequently showed him limping, the earlier bravado replaced by visible pain.
