Nandyal Alumni Pull Chariot for Teachers in Unique Gratitude Gesture
Around 750 alumni of a Nandyal school honoured teachers by seating them on a chariot and pulling it through the streets, symbolising teachers as life's guides.
On the occasion of Teachers Day, nearly 750 alumni of Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalayam in Nandyal came together for a distinctive celebration. The former students, spanning multiple batches, chose to honour their teachers by seating them on a decorated chariot and pulling it through the town's streets with ropes.
The gesture was deeply symbolic. Organisers explained that the act was intended to convey that teachers are the true charioteers, guiding students through the journey of life. By physically pulling the chariot, the alumni expressed their collective gratitude for the role their mentors played in shaping their lives, character, and futures.
M.V. Sivakumar Reddy, an alumnus and founder of the organisation Mana Ooru-Mana Gudi-Mana Bhadyatha, highlighted the importance of the tribute. He noted that the effort was a way to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of teachers. In preparation for the event, Mr. Reddy and his teammates also cleaned the school premises two days prior, ensuring the campus was pristine for the celebrations.
