Revanth Reddy Asks Nani's Team to File Police Application for 'The Paradise' Premiere
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has asked Nani's team to apply to the local police station for permission to attend 'The Paradise' premiere at RTC X Roads.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has responded to actor Nani's request to attend the premiere of 'The Paradise' at RTC X Roads in Hyderabad, directing the actor's team to submit a formal application to the designated local police station for review.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister acknowledged the actor's regard for safety norms and his commitment to the film, which is directed by Srikanth Odela. He said the application would be examined by the concerned team, which would then take a decision, while underlining the importance of orderly crowd management and public safety.
Nani had earlier written to Revanth Reddy, Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Telangana police officials, seeking permission to attend the premiere show at RTC X Roads on September 23. Describing himself as a fan of cinema, he said he wanted to watch the film alongside the audience, noting that the theatre holds a special place for movie lovers in Hyderabad.
The actor said the greatest satisfaction in making a film lies in sitting among viewers and experiencing their response, and assured the authorities that all necessary protocols and safety guidelines would be followed during his visit.
The request comes in the wake of the stampede at Hyderabad's Sandhya Theatre during a special show of the Allu Arjun-starrer 'Pushpa 2' on December 4, 2024. A large crowd had gathered to see the actor, and the situation spiralled out of control as he waved to fans from the sunroof of his car. A woman, identified as Revathi, died in the incident and her son was seriously injured and hospitalised.
Financial assistance was later extended to the victim's family, with producer Allu Aravind announcing a contribution of Rs 2 crore. In the related case, the Chikkadpally Police have named Allu Arjun as Accused No. 11, while the management of Sandhya Theatre has been listed as Accused Nos. 1 to 10. The Nampally Criminal Court has issued summons to 19 accused persons, and a chargesheet has been filed against 23 individuals. The court adjourned the hearing to July 6.
'The Paradise', directed by Srikanth Odela, is scheduled for release on September 24.
