President Murmu to Confer National Teachers' Awards on 48 Educators

President Droupadi Murmu will confer the National Teachers' Awards on 48 school teachers on September 5, marking Teachers' Day. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Education, which oversees the annual recognition programme.

The awardees were chosen through a rigorous three-stage selection process conducted at the district, state, and national levels by the Department of School Education & Literacy. The process aimed to identify educators who have made exceptional contributions to school education and student development.

This year's honourees represent a broad cross-section of the country, with teachers coming from 27 states, seven union territories, and six organisations under the Central government. The list includes 26 men and 22 women.

As part of the award ceremony, short documentaries showcasing the exemplary work and achievements of each awardee will be screened. The Ministry stated that the purpose of the award is to celebrate the unique contributions of some of India's finest teachers and to honour those who, through their commitment, have enriched the lives of their students.

The national-level Teachers' Day event is organised annually by the Department to recognise outstanding school teachers from across India.
