Navodaya Vidyalayas Open Applications for Class 9 and 11 Lateral Entry Admissions

NVS has begun accepting applications for the Lateral Entry Selection Test 2027 for Class 9 and 11 admissions. Apply by September 30.

The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has commenced the registration process for the Lateral Entry Selection Test (LEST) 2027, which governs admissions to Classes 9 and 11 at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) across the country. The application window is open until September 30, and interested candidates can submit their forms online through the official NVS portal at navodaya.gov.in.

This selection test is specifically designed to fill vacant seats in the respective JNVs. Before applying, candidates and their parents are urged to thoroughly review the notification-cum-prospectus to confirm they meet all prescribed eligibility conditions.

Examination Schedule

The entrance test for admission to Class 9 is slated to be held on Saturday, April 10, 2027. The examination will take place at the JNV in the candidate's concerned district or at any other centre designated by the NVS.

Registration and Required Documents

While filling out the online application, candidates must have a recent photograph and the signatures of both the candidate and their parent ready for upload. The application portal will also require basic information, including the state and district of residence and study, Aadhaar number, Class 8 study details, APAAR ID/PEN, and address.

For those who require assistance, a help desk is available at all JNVs to guide candidates and parents through the application process free of cost. Individuals can visit the help desk with the necessary documents, including the photograph and signatures.

Admit Cards and Post-Selection Formalities

Admit cards for registered candidates will be issued according to a schedule determined by NVS. The release date will be announced on the application portal, likely one month before the examination. Candidates can download their admit cards free of charge.

Following the selection, parents of provisionally selected candidates for Class 9 must present several documents for verification at the time of admission. These include a government-issued birth certificate, proof of eligibility, a rural quota certificate (if applying under that category), a residence certificate from the same district as the JNV, a copy of the candidate's Aadhaar card, and relevant category or Divyang certificates, where applicable.
