NCERT Releases Two New Class 9 Textbooks for 2026-27 Session
NCERT has announced two new Grade 9 textbooks for 2026-27, aligned with NEP 2020 and NCF-SE 2023, available via its sales counters, website and Amazon.
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has announced that two new textbooks for Grade 9 will be available for the academic year 2026-27. The books cover Mathematics and Social Science and have been developed to reflect the revised curricular approach.
According to the council, the Mathematics textbook, titled Ganita Manjari – Part 2, went on sale from September 21, 2026. The Social Science textbook, Understanding Society: India & Beyond – Part 2, will be released on September 30.
Both titles can be purchased through NCERT's authorised sales counters, the council's official website and Amazon.
In a post on X, NCERT said the new editions are aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023. The council said the books are intended to support the evolving learning needs of students and the implementation of the new curricular approach.
Students, teachers, parents and schools have been advised to buy the textbooks only through NCERT's authorised sales channels.
NCERT, set up in 1961, is an autonomous body that advises the central and state governments on policies and programmes aimed at improving school education. Besides research, training and publication work, it serves as an implementing agency for bilateral cultural exchange programmes in the field of school education.
Earlier, the council had published its Third (R3) language learning resources on its portal, ncert.nic.in.
