NEET-PG 2026: Jaipur Centre Exam Moved to Sept 5 After Power Failure
NEET-PG 2026 at a Jaipur centre has been rescheduled to September 5 due to a power outage. NBEMS will issue fresh admit cards.
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has rescheduled the NEET-PG 2026 examination for candidates allotted to a centre in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The test, originally scheduled at the iON Digital Zone in Sitapura, has been moved to September 5, 2026, following concerns over a severe power outage at the venue.
The last-minute change has caused significant distress among aspirants, many of whom had travelled from neighbouring districts and states to reach their allotted examination centre. NBEMS has assured candidates that revised admit cards and detailed logistical information for the new date will be published shortly on its official portal.
The disruption comes at a time when the medical entrance system is already under scrutiny. Both NEET-UG and NEET-PG have faced criticism in recent years over issues such as alleged paper leaks, award of grace marks, and administrative mismanagement. These controversies have led to student protests, legal challenges reaching the Supreme Court, and calls for overhauling the centralised testing model. The NEET-UG leak episode, in particular, triggered widespread demonstrations and contributed to the resignation of the former Education Minister.
For postgraduate aspirants, NEET-PG serves as the sole gateway to MD, MS, and PG Diploma programmes. The preparation is demanding, often requiring candidates to pause their medical practice. Affected students are advised to monitor the official NBEMS website and their registered email addresses for updates. Old hall tickets will not be valid for the rescheduled test, and downloading the revised admit card is mandatory. Local authorities are expected to investigate the power failure to prevent similar disruptions in future examinations.
