Netflix drops trailer for Mike Tyson docuseries, sets October 13 premiere

Netflix has unveiled the trailer for 'Tyson', a four-part docuseries charting the life of heavyweight boxing icon Mike Tyson, scheduled to premiere on October 13.

The series follows Tyson from his turbulent childhood in Brooklyn to worldwide fame, tracing his ascent as the youngest heavyweight champion in history. According to the official synopsis, it also examines the fame, influence and controversy that shadowed his career and nearly undid him, with Tyson speaking candidly about the pressures and personal costs behind his legacy.

In the trailer, Tyson looks back on his triumphs, his setbacks and his return to the ring and to public life. The docuseries weaves in archival footage from some of his most celebrated bouts. Netflix posted the trailer on its Instagram account on Thursday.

Floyd Russ directs the docuseries, which is produced by Jenna Millman, Jacob Miller and Alexa Ginsburg.

Alongside the series, Netflix has offered a first look at Tyson's one-man show, 'Mike Tyson: Return of the Mike', which debuts on the platform on November 3. The special is billed as a raw, unfiltered performance in which Tyson swaps menace for mischief, showcasing sharp comic timing and a knack for turning his own turmoil into punchlines. Its logline promises an unguarded, unpredictable and genuinely funny side of the fighter.

Directed by Kiki Tyson, the special was filmed at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Mike Tyson and Kiki Tyson serve as executive producers alongside Marc Lieberman.
